How to record your screen in Ubuntu Linux in 3 different ways.

In this article I’ll explain to you how to record video from your desktop using: Gnome Shell screen recorder, Simple Screen Recorder and OBS Studio.

Starting/Stopping recording in Gnome Shell screen recorder

  • To start recording your desktop press at once Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R.
  • Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R to stop recording. Videos will be saved in ~/Videos directory.

Installing Simple Screen Recorder from Ubuntu repository

sudo apt-get install simplescreenrecorder

Installing OBS Studio from Ubuntu repository

sudo apt-get install obs-studio
