[SOLVED] Ubuntu Linux: Strange constant noise during audio playback. Particularly annoying during silence.

When I was listening to music in my headphones I noticed that just after clicking play button I could hear strange sound like a hitting a drum plate. After that I was also able to hear constant noise during all playback. It was especially annoying during pauses when I could hear noise instead of silence. In this short article I’ll show you the solution for the describes problem that works for me. No more annoying noise.

In my case the cause of the problem was associated with power safe options of Intel’s integrated sound card. If you have similar issue you can try to edit the following file.

sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

At the end of the file just add the following line

options snd_hda_intel power_save=0 power_save_controller=N

Restart your computer. After that the irritating noise will go away forever.

At the end… May I ask you for something?

If I helped you solve your problem, please share this post. Thanks to this, I will have the opportunity to reach a wider group of readers. Thank You
